Red Sonata Fiesta, a one-week Chinese Cultural Event, first to be organized in UTP by UTPOCM! Starting from 23-26 March, we'll be having Cultural Expo, Cultural Games & Activities, & lastly a Musical-Cultural Concert Night as the finale!

Dragon Canoe Race


Rules and Regulations

1. Registration: 1 – 23 March 2010 at Pocket D.

2. On-the-spot registration at the beginning of the game is available.

3. Each team must consist of 5 participants: 2 canoers and at least 3 cheerleaders.

4. Registration fee is RM8 per team as materials will be provided.

5. Materials can be collected on 21 March 2010 (Sunday) prior to the competition.

6. Participants are encouraged to attend the prize-giving ceremony on 24 March 2010 at Multi-Purpose Hall.

7. Participants can use any suitable animal head as the “Dragon Head” according to the team’s interest.

8. “Dragon Head” can be constructed prior to the competition.

9. Each team will be given 20 minutes to set the dragon boat up and practise at the section of the lake allocated for practising.

10. After the practice session, each team has to ride their respective boat to the section of the lake allocated for the competition and queue up at the starting line.

11. Judging scheme will be based on:

* Design and architecture of the “Dragon Head”
* Stability of the “Dragon Head” after the race ends
* Time taken for team to finish the race
* Team’s attire (head bandana is encouraged for canoers) including canoers and cheerleaders.
